Visit of Fábio Porto, Head of the AI Institute at the National Laboratory of Scientific Computing  (LNCC) in Brazil

Fábio Porto, Head of the AI Institute at the National Laboratory of Scientific Computing  (LNCC) in Brazil, and three others visited the National Institute of Informatics (NII) on Friday, May 30.

After Director-General Sadao Kurohashi gave an overview of NII to the visitors, Project Professor Koichi Takeda, Vice Director of the Research and Development Center for Large Language Models, provided an explanation about the "the "R&D Hub Aimed at Ensuring Transparency and Reliability of Generative AI Models" project and the LLM-jp (LLM Research Group). Following that, Assistant Professor Shuhei Kurita gave a demonstration of robot arm operation.

We exchanged views on future prospects, such as the development of sovereign AI(*1) and the accumulation of high-quality training data. This visit concluded in a friendly atmosphere with the presentation of a commemorative gift from NII and a group photo session.
