About the Experts in
Information Science Program

NII runs an elite training program for high school and technical college students who possess excellent abilities in informatics that is improving research capabilities and raising standards in the informatics field in Japan. In this program, high school and technical college students with world-class mastery of mathematics, algorithms, programming, and software development will be exposed to cutting-edge informatics research. Students will also conduct collaborative research with leading young researchers in Japan's informatics field. Through this collaborative research, we are striving to provide students with pathways to becoming world-class leaders in informatics. This program is promoted by NII as an implementing agency of the Japan Science and Technology Agency's Science and Technology Challenge Program for Next Generation (STELLA program), in collaboration with the Information Processing Society of Japan and The Japanese Committee for International Olympiad in Informatics.
