Developing a Research Data Ecosystem
for the Promotion of Data-Driven Science
About the Project
The "Developing a Research Data Ecosystem for the Promotion of Data-Driven Science" is a project of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), which aims to promote the "formation and dissemination of use cases," "promotion of data sharing and utilization," and "effective use of research digital infrastructure, etc." in an integrated manner in order to promote nationwide transformation of research activities (Research DX) through the use of digital technology and data.
The National Institute of Informatics (NII), together with RIKEN, the University of Tokyo, Nagoya University, and Osaka University, has been commissioned to implement this project (for up to five years from FY2022).
We will promote this project by focusing on the NII Research Data Cloud (NII RDC), a research data infrastructure built by the National Institute of Informatics, and by working extensively to upgrade the functionality of the infrastructure and to create guidelines, etc..

Use Case Public Call Information
Since this project aims to "create seeds and use cases for AI and data-driven research based on data collaboration among different fields using a nationwide research data infrastructure, "we are calling for a wide range of proposals for creating use cases as follows.
In FY2023, applications received by the 15th of even-numbered months will be reviewed and results notified by the end of the following odd-numbered month, on an as-needed basis.
