Measures Needed to Further Improve the Journals

  • We will continue to plan and publish special focus issues featuring hot topics in the field of plant science to disseminate to the world Japan’s strengths in plant science research.
  • As part of our efforts to improve services to authors and readers, we will promote interactions between them and our editorial members in addition to providing fast publication, offering e-offprints, and organizing the annual cover design contest.
  • JSPP seeks to improve Japanese plant science’s presence in the world by extensively utilizing OUP’s think-tank functions through an equal footing partnership with OUP.

E-journal Sales Promotion to University Libraries

  • All of the 238 high quality titles included in the OUP e-journal collection can be subscribed to. It is also possible to subscribe only to those titles in a specific area.
  • The complete digital archive of PCP dating back to the inaugural issue published in 1959 is available for purchase or subscription in accordance with customers’ needs.

Promotion to Authors to Further Increase Submissions

  • The impact factor of PCP stood at 4.257 in 2010, breaking a certain threshold. Taking this opportunity, we would like to set a higher goal and seek to increase the global presence of PCP.
  • In each issue, one article is selected as Editor-in-Chief’s choice and made freely available online to attract more readers.
  • The time required from submission to publication is very short. Peer review takes 21 days on average and articles are published online within one week of final acceptance. For those articles requiring even faster publication, the Rapid Paper category is available.
  • PCP Authors receive free e-offprints of their published articles, which can be distributed freely to their fellow researchers.
  • In collaboration with OUP, we strive to maximize the impact of published articles through proactive electronic marketing efforts and through networking and presentations at international scientific meetings.
