Title Formal Methods as Software Engineering Tools

Abstract Formal methods, whilst actually not, are expected to be a panacea for attaining to highly reliable software systems. In spite of such fever, we are more than one lap behind Western, where a long term steady effort has been made. This paper tries to illustrate what happens in the world of formal methods, which is mostly based on the author' s personal experience.
