Mr. Eric J. Miller, Research Scientist, OCLC Online Computer Library Center, Inc., was invited to NACSIS from February 28, 1998 to March 7, 1998, under an international joint research project entitled “ Field Research on the Development of the Digital Libraries - Analysis of the International Trend and Implications to Scientific Information Utilization - ” headed by Prof. Masamitsu NEGISHI, R&D, NACSIS.

On March 3, 1998, Dr. Thomas Baker, Asian Institute of Technology also visited us, and Mr. Miller and Dr. Baker made lectures for NACSIS R&D members.

Invitation to Dr. Gerald Hane,White House Office of Science and Technology Policy

Dr. Gerald Hane, Special Assistant for Policy and Plans, National Security and International Affairs, White House Office of Science and Technology Policy was invited to NACSIS from January 17, 1998 to January 25, 1998, under the international joint research project entitled ÒField Research on the Development of the Digital Libraries - Analysis of the International Trend and Implications to Scientific Information Utilization -Ó headed by Prof. Masamitsu NEGISHI, R&D, NACSIS.

He made a lecture for NACSIS R&D members on January 19, 1998.

Investigation by WTEC Digital Information Organization Study Team

WTEC Digital Information Organization Study Team led by Mr. Raj Reddy, Carnegie Melon University, visited NACSIS on March 24, 1998. They met Dr. INOSE, Director General and have discussion with Prof. NEGISHI, Dr. Jun ADACHI, Professor, R&D, Dr. Atsuhiro TAKASU, Associate Professor, R&D, Dr. Shinichi SATO, Research Associate, R&D, and Directors of each Division of the Operation Department, NACSIS.
