Liaison Meeting of NACSIS-CAT Regional Training Courses in Fiscal 1997

NACSIS invited one representative each from 18 universities where NACSIS-CAT regional training courses were held in fiscal 1997 to a two-day Liaison Meeting Held for Persons in Charge of NACSIS-CAT Regional Training Courses in Fiscal 1997 on March 3 and 4, 1998.

This meeting was held with the goal of eliciting the views of the institutions where regional training courses have been held in order to incorporate their insights into similar future courses. The agenda was as follows: (1) report on the implementation of regional training courses in fiscal 1997, (2) reports from individual institutions, (3) tour of the NACSIS training room, (4) plans for implementation of regional training courses in fiscal 1998, (5) explanation of the new NACSIS-CAT system, and (6) question and answer period.

The reports by the representatives of individual institutions indicated the individual points that were modified and the problem points when regional training courses are held at different institutions, and a variety of requests were made of NACSIS. This resulted in a lively discussion.

The implementation of regional training courses requires the understanding and cooperation of the host institutions. NACSIS plans to take these views and requests into account in its efforts to lighten the burden placed on host institutions in future.

The end of the fiscal year is a very busy time, and NACSIS is grateful to all the representatives of institutions that attended the meeting. We hope for your continued understanding and cooperation in future.
