Professor Kawarabayashi Attends ACM Awards Banquet, Featured in "People of ACM"

Professor Ken-ichi Kawarabayashi (Principles of Informatics Research Division), named a 2025 ACM Fellow this past January, attended the ACM Awards Banquet held in San Francisco on June 13, 2026.

ACM (Association for Computing Machinery), known for conferring the Turing Award, has a global membership of more than 100,000. The title of Fellow is given to members who have made outstanding contributions, and those named to date represent the top 1% of ACM members. Seventy-one Fellows from 14 countries were named to the 2025 class, and Professor Kawarabayashi was cited "for contributions to graph theory, graph algorithms, and their applications." He is the tenth Japanese researcher to be named an ACM Fellow, and the third from NII, following Masaru Kitsuregawa and Akinori Yonezawa.

He was also featured in "People of ACM," ACM's interview series introducing members of the computing community.
