Visit to NII by the delegation from Brazil whose representative is Mr. Daniel Guimarães, President of the Brazilian Institute of Public Administration (IBAP)

On Tuesday, June 9, Mr. Daniel Guimarães, President of the Brazilian Institute of Public Administration (IBAP), along with 13 members, visited the National Institute of Informatics (NII).

Following an overview of NII by Vice Director-General Akihiro Sugimoto, Professor Isao Echizen, Director of the Global Research Center for Synthetic Media, gave a presentation on research and development as well as social implementation to prevent and mitigate the spread of fake media, with highlighting real-world challenges.

Subsequently, Project Professor Koichi Takeda, Deputy Director of the Research and Development Center for Large Language Models, introduced research and development efforts to ensure transparency and reliability in generative AI models, as well as activities related to LLM-jp (LLM Study Group).

After the presentations from NII, an active question-and-answer session took place between NII researchers and the Brazilian visitors.

The visit concluded in a friendly atmosphere, including the hand delivery of commemorative gifts and a group photo session.
