Prof. Chen Nai-Fang, President, Beijin Foreign Studies University visited NACSIS on February 3, 1998 with Prof. Xu Yi-Ping, Beijing Center for Japanese Studies (BCJS). The visit was arranged by the Japan Foundation as part of its supporting project of library computerization at the Beijing Center for Japanese Studies.
Prof. Hitoshi INOUE welcomed their visit and introduced the mission and scope of NACSIS services. Prof. Eisuke NAITO, Prof. Akira MIYAZAWA attended the introduction session together with Mr. Yukiharu KAKIMOTO, Director of the Operations Department, Mr. Masashi MAKIMURA, Director of Cataloging Information Division. Professors Chen Nai-Fang and Xu Yi-Ping saw the demonstration of NACSIS-CAT, NACSIS-ELS, NACSIS-IR.

A discussion session took place concerning the future possibility of co-operation between the Beijing Foreign Studies University and NACSIS as well as with the Beijing Center for Japanese Studies which is the main focal point of Japanese studies and Japanese collections in China.

The Japan Foundation is to support funding the computerization of the BCJS Library, and NACSIS shall participate the project.
