- Others
The Centre for East Asian Cultural Studies for UNESCO is a research institute established with the cooperation and assistance of UNESCO (United Japanese National Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) and the Japanese National Commission for UNESCO in 1961 as an organization attached to The Toyo Bunko. At the present time, it plans and engages in activities for cooperation with UNESCO, activities for gathering scientific information, storage and dissemination of important documents, and activities to promote research as an information center for research on the humanities and social sciences of Asia and North Africa, in particular, East Asia.
The Toyo Bunko is a specialized library and research institute for Asian studies established in 1917. It houses documents relating to Asian studies, publishes research findings of Japanese scholars, disseminates knowledge about Asia, engages in international exchanges, and engages in other activities contributing to the development of Asian studies.
The Toyo Bunko is open to use by serious scholars engaged in research or surveys in the field of Asian studies.
