要旨

オープン･アーカイブズ･イニシアティブのオブジェクトの再利用と交換（OAI-ORE）プロジェクトは、Webリソースの集合体を記述、交換するための標準を定義する。OAI-OREはリソースマップという概念を導入する。これは名前付きグラフを特殊化したものであり、リソースの有限集合（集合リソース）、その型、内的関係、この有限集合の外部のリソースとの関係を識別、表明する。リソースマップ文書は様々なフォーマットでシリアル化することが可能であるが、本文書の目的は、Atom配信フォーマット [RFC4287] に基づき、これに準拠するシリアル化の仕様を定めることである。このリソースマップ文書をシリアル化するAtomベースのフォーマットは、Atomリソースマッププロファイルと呼ぶことができる。本仕様書は、OAI-ORE仕様書およびユーザガイドを構成する文書の1つである。

1. はじめに

オープン･アーカイブズ･イニシアティブのオブジェクトの再利用と交換（OAI-ORE）プロジェクトは、Webリソースの集合体を記述、交換するための標準を定義する。OAI-OREはリソースマップ（Resource Map）という概念を導入する。これは名前付きグラフを特殊化したものであり、リソースの有限集合（集合リソース）、その型、内的関係、この有限集合と外部のリソースとの関係を識別、表明する。リソースマップ文書（Resource Map Document）はリソースマップの機械可読な表現である。リソースマップ文書は様々なフォーマットでシリアル化することが可能であるが、本文書の目的は、Atom配信フォーマット（Atom syndication format） [RFC4287] に基づき、これに準拠するシリアル化の仕様を定めることである。このシリアル化によるリソースマップ文書は若干のORE固有の成分を持つ妥当なAtomフィード文書（Atom Feed Document）である。このリソースマップ文書をシリアル化するAtomベースのフォーマットは、Atomリソースマッププロファイル（Resource Map Profile of Atom）と呼ぶことができる。

ORE抽象データモデルはリソースマップRDFグラフで表現することができるトリプルの型に制約を課している。抽象データモデルのAtomによるシリアル化ではAtom配信フォーマットの表現力の制限によりさらなる制約を課す。Atomによるシリアル化の最大の制約は、集合体または集合リソースが関係トリプルの主語である関係しか表現できないことである。Atomによるリソースマップ文書の表現力には制限があるが、その簡潔性と一般的なフィード技術に対する信頼性により幅広い応用分野にアピールすると思われる。さらに、Atomによるリソースマップ文書はRDF/XMLによるリソースマップのシリアル化に自動的に変換することが可能である。

本仕様書は、次のORE文書で導入された概念と用語を使用する。

Atomリソースマッププロファイルは、Atom配信フォーマット [RFC4287] に完全に準拠し、その固有のプロファイルを定義する。

OREユーザガイド - Atomによるリソースマップの実装 [ORE User Guide Resource Map] は本仕様書を補足するAtom実装のガイダンスを提供している。

1.1 表記法

本仕様書では、[RFC4287]の1.2節で定義されているようにAtom名前空間URI "http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom" を表す名前空間プリフィックスとして "atom:" を使用する。このプリフィックスの選択は恣意的なものであり、特に意味のあるものではないことに注意されたい。

本仕様書では、XML Infoset [XML Infoset] の用語について [RFC4287]で使用されているものと同じ簡略表現を使用する。すなわち、要素情報項目および属性情報項目を示す際に「情報項目」という語句を省略する。したがって、本仕様書で「要素」という用語を使用する場合、それはInfoset用語における要素情報項目を表している。同様に、「属性」という用語を使用する場合は属性情報項目を表している。

本仕様書では、IRI [RFC3987] およびURIの両者を意味する共通の用語としてURI [RFC3986] を使用する。

本文書におけるキーワード「しなければならない（MUST）」「してはいけない（MUST NOT）」「必須とする（REQUIRED）」「とする（SHALL）」「とはしない（SHALL NOT）」「べきである（SHOULD）」「べきでない（SHOULD NOT）」「推奨する（RECOMMENDED）」「できる（MAY）」「オプションである（OPTIONAL）」は、RFC 2119 [IETF RFC 2119] に記述されているように解釈されるものとする。

（訳注: 文書中濃い黄色で示されている部分はパブリックアルファ0.1から0.2で変更された個所である。

1.2 準拠

Atomリソースマッププロファイルに従って作成されたリソースマップ文書は、Atom配信フォーマット [RFC4287]に準拠しなければならない。さらに、2節で詳述されるOREモデルとAtomモデル間の意味上の対応、および3節と4節で詳述されているAtomリソースマッププロファイルの制約と拡張を順守しなければならない。

特に、リソースマップは、[RFC4287]のRelax NG Compactスキーマに対して妥当な（valid）整形式のXML文書でなければならない。さらに、リソースマップ文書は、付録 Cに示すAtomリソースマッププロファイルの構文をさらに制限する、より具体的なSchematronスキーマに対して妥当でなければならない。

1.3 例

本文書では以下のシナリオを使ってAtomリソースマッププロファイルの仕様を説明する。

D-Lib Magazine <http://www.dlib.org> はOAI-ORE相互運用仕様を採用し、各論文についてリソースマップURI（URI-R）を作成し、これらURIでリソースマップ文書を公開することを決定した。リソースマップ文書はD-Lib論文を構成するすべてのWebリソースの一覧である。このシナリオでは次の論文に焦点を絞る。

D-Lib Magazineは、OAI-ORE相互運用レイヤを実装するために、この論文の全てのWebリソースをリストアップしているリソースマップ文書を公開する新たなURI（URI-R）: <http://www.dlib.org/dlib/february06/smith/rem/> を作成する。また、論文の発見を支援するために、OREユーザガイド - リソースマップの発見 [ORE User Guide Discovery] に記述されているリソースマップの発見技法を1つ以上実装する。

D-Lib Magazine論文のための最小限のリソースマップ文書を以下に示す。これはここでも公開されている。このリソースマップ文書は本文書を通じて徐々に詳細なものとなる。詳細版の一例は付録 Bに示されている。

2. OREモデルとAtomモデルの対応

表 1と図 1は、 OREモデルの実体がAtomモデル [RFC4287] の実体にどのように対応付けられるかを示している。

一般に、Atomフィードはリソースマップに、Atomフィード文書はリソースマップ文書に対応する。さらに、Atomフィード内のAtomエントリは、リソースマップで記述される集合体の集合リソースごとに存在する。各集合リソースはこのAtomエントリ atom:entry の "related" という値を持つ、関係を表す一意な atom:link 子要素により伝達される。

より具体的に言えば、対応付けに関して以下が成立する。

図 1は、この対応付けを示している。この図はORE抽象モデル文書でOREモデルを説明している図と同じものであるが、Atom実体を重ねあわせて示している。図の左側はリソースマップに対応するAtomフィードを、右側はリソースマップで記述される集合体の集合リソースを伝達するために導入されたAtomフィードのAtomエントリを示している。 OREモデルの型付けされた関係は黒色の矢印で、Atomシリアル化のコンストラクトは赤色の矢印で示されている。黒矢印と赤矢印が同じ番号を持つ場合は、OREモデルの型付けされた関係が同じ番号を持つコンストラクトを使ってAtomで実装されていることを示している。たとえば、黒矢印 [2] はOREモデルに従って <A-1> <ore:analogousTo> <DOI-1> を表明しており、リソースマップで記述される集合体に結びついている識別子（DOI-1）を伝達する。Atomシリアル化では、対応するコンストラクトが同じ [2] を持つ赤矢印で示されており、これはOREモデルにおける表明がAtomでは "related" という値を持つ関係属性と "DOI-1"という値のhref属性を持つ atom:feed の atom:link 子要素を使って表現されることを示している。同様に、黒矢印 [3] はOREモデルに従って <A-1> <ore:aggregates> <AR-1> を表明している。Atomシリアル化では、対応するコンストラクトが同じ [3] を持つ赤矢印で示されおり、これは "alternate" という値を持つ関係属性と集合リスソースのURIである "AR-1" という値のhref属性を持つ atom:link 子要素を持つ atom:entry を使って集合リソースが伝達されることを意味している。

ORE抽象データモデルは、リソースマップRDFグラフで表現することができるトリプルの型に制約を課している。抽象データモデルのAtomによるシリアル化では、Atom配信フォーマットの表現力の限界によりさらなる制約を課す。Atomによるシリアル化の最大の制約は、集合体または集合リソースが関係トリプルの主語である関係しか表現できないことである。したがって、ORE抽象データモデルではサポートされている次の関係がAtomを使っては表現できない。

  • 関係を表すトリプルの目的語が集合体または集合リソースである関係。
  • 関係を表すトリプルの目的語も主語も集合体または集合リソースでない関係。

さらに、既に表 2と表 3で示されているように、Atomによるシリアル化は抽象データモデルで導入されたトリプルを必ずしもそのまま使用しているわけではなく、時にはAtomコンストラクトを使ってトリプルが意図した情報を伝達している。表 4に、Atomシリアル化における制約と抽象データモデルのトリプルがAtomコンストラクトを使って表現されている事例をまとめた。ORE抽象データモデルとの相違を薄い黄色で示した。表 4では以下の記法を使用している。

Aliceはリソースマップを作成し、この中にD-Lib Magazineの論文のPDFファイル "http://www.dlib.org/dlib/february06/smith/pg1-13.pdf" を集めたいと仮定する。もちろん、Aliceはゼロから初めてリソースマップに atom:entry を作成することによりこのPDFファイルを伝達することができるだろう。しかし、D-Lib Magazineがこの論文のために公開しているリソースマップを偶然見つけ、このPDFファイルを伝達する atom:entry を再利用することを決めるかもしれない。この場合、Alice（まあ、Aliceのソフトウェア）は、D-Lib Magazineのリソースマップ文書から各 atom:entry をコピーして、彼女のリソースマップにペーストすることになる。ペーストされた atom:entry はD-Lib Magazineのものと同じであるが、必須のメタデータ（この場合は、D-Libリソースマップ文書のatom:author、atom:category、atom:id、atom:link、atom:updated、atom:rights）が、コピーされたエントリの atom:source 子要素に自動的に追加される点だけが異なる。Aliceのペーストされたエントリは、彼女の意図通りPDFファイルを集めるが、同時にD-Lib Magazineリソースマップにあったその起源まで曖昧なくたどることも可能である。

その後、BobがAliceのリソースマップを発見し、彼女がコピー&ペーストしたPDFファイルを伝達するエントリを彼のリソースマップで再利用したいと考えた場合、BobはAliceと同じようにコピー&ペーストを行うことができる。Bobの場合、source情報は既にAliceのリソースマップにあるので上書きしてはいけないことに注意されたい。同じ状況はCarolがBobのリソースマップからエントリを再利用する場合にも発生する。source情報は既に存在するので、atom:entry は、atom:source 子要素が含まれた状態で「そのまま」コピーされる。
