Announcing the start of the five-year Ph.D. course

  The Department of Informatics, Multidisciplinary Sciences of The Graduate University for Advanced Studies announces the opening of its five-year Ph.D. course.
  Admissions to the three-year Ph.D. course now join the 3rd year of the five-year Ph.D. programe.
 


○  The five-year Ph. D. course

    *  Basic requirements for entry are the completion of an undergraduate course
(or expected completion of the course by day of admission) in a Japanese University
or equivalent to an undergraduate course in Japan at an accredited institution outside Japan.
   *  Applications are also accepted from those who have an equal level of scholarship.
   *  The aim to qualify for a doctoral degree in five years.
However, cases where students leave the University halfway through the course, a master's degree may be granted depending on individual conditions.

  ※ For entrants in April 2006
Application period : December 2005
Entrance examination : February 2006

○  The three-year Ph.D. course

   
    *  Basic requirements for entry are the completion of a masters degree (or expected completion of the course by day of admission) in a Japanese University or equivalent to a masters course in Japan at an accredited institution outside Japan.
    *  Applications are also accepted from those who have an equal level of scholarship.

  ※ For entrants in April 2006
Entrance examinations will be held as before, but students will be admitted
into the third year of the five-year Ph.D. course.
