The School of Multidisciplinary Sciences at Sokendai has been awarded 2 MEXT scholarships for highly qualified overseas students. Applicants must be university graduates who have completed their studies in computer science, informatics or a related field. The scholarships cover a stipend of 158,000 yen per month and tuition, and will be awarded on a competitive basis.

Informatics is the multidisciplinary study of information and computation. Within our department this encompases a wide range of scientific and social disciplines. Students are encouraged in the first case to view the Web pages of faculty within the department and make contact with potential supervisors to discuss applications and research.

Our Department currently has over 60 faculty and 70 Ph.D. students with over 20 from overseas. A low student-teacher ratio and the breadth of intellectual endeavour that we offer contributes to making our department a rewarding and valued experience for all. Most courses are taught in English and Japanese classes are provided within the Department.
