Kokichi Sugihara(Specially Appointed Professor at Meiji Institute for Advanced Study of Mathematical Sciences)

When we try to understand how we extract depths from pictures through methematical modeling, we cannot but realize that seeing is great but not always correct. We consider these characteristics of human visual systems by enjoying new visual illusion called "impossible motions".

Keynote speech"New Generation Scientific Clouds and Green Supercomputing and Networking Underneath"
Satoshi Matsuoka(Professor, Global Scientific Information and Computing Center of Tokyo Institute of Technology )

Modern-day scientific research requires massive computational as well as data processing power in order to conduct sophisticated simulations. Scinetific Clouds based on supercomputers such as TSUBAME2.0, which is the greenest production supercomputer in the world, would be essential to fullfill the needs.
