Application Procedure for "Yahoo! Chiebukuro Data (2nd edition)"

Outline of the Data

This data was obtained by Yahoo Japan Corporation, extracting questions and answers from the "Yahoo! Chiebukuro" database.

NTCIR-8 CQA Test Collection using this data is also available together with this data.

Usage conditions

NII provides the "Yahoo! Chiebukuro data (2nd edition)" to researchers according to the contract between NII and Yahoo Japan Corporation.

The qualified users are participants of the NTCIR Project and researchers conducting research related to this Project (e.g., information retrieval, natural language processing).

The usage is limited to research purposes only. Some conditions are set on publication of the research results.

Submission

Please submit an application following the procedure shown below. The data is available free for charge. Please download the required documents (except "Memorandum form") from the "documents" section below.

  1. Read "Handling of Yahoo! Chiebukuro Data" and "Memorandum on Permission to use the Yahoo! Chiebukuro Data (sample)" carefully, fill in the "Application Form" with required information, and send it to the IDR office shown below by e-mail as an attachment file.

  2. Your application will be reviewed and the result will be noticed to you in a several days. Please understand that, since the review is done based on the contract between NII and Yahoo Japan Corporation, there is a possibility that we cannot provide the data to you.

  3. You and NII conclude a memorandum.

    1. We will send the "Memorandum Form" (PDF file) to you by e-mail as an attachment file.

    2. Make two copies of double-sided print-outs, fill in with required information, sign and seal, and send both of the two copies to the IDR office shown below by post. Make sure the print-out is double-sided.

    3. We will return one of the copies sealed by NII. Please keep it in a secure place.

  4. We will provide the data.

Data provision

The data will be provided by download from a Web server. If you cannot download the data for some technical reason, please consult us.
