| Abstract | This research aims at mapping between research fields of Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research that is the biggest Japan's national budget items and subject categories of Web of Science (WoS) that is the world premier bibliographic database for citation evaluations. For the mapping, we used the grants database operated by NII and the WoS database, and took a bottom up approach in which linkages between articles of grants achievements and of bibliographic collections in WoS by bibliographic identifications by means of i-Linkage and support vector machine (SVM) produce contingency tables of the grants research fields and WoS subject areas. These tables can be applied to analyze bibliographic indicators with the Japan's well-known and identical research fields instead of WoS subject areas. |
